Anti-Modern Slavery Policy

1. Introduction

This statement is made pursuant to the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. It outlines the steps that Fat Flamingo Cards has taken to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business operations or supply chains.

We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard against any form of modern slavery.

2. Our business

Fat Flamingo Cards is a greeting cards business specialising in the design, production, and sale of printed cards and related stationery products.

Our activities include:

  • Designing greeting cards
  • Working with third-party printers and suppliers
  • Selling via online platforms and/or retail channels

3. Our supply chains

Our supply chain includes:

  • Printing providers
  • Their delivery and logistics services

We recognise that some elements of these supply chains, particularly paper production and overseas manufacturing, may present a risk of modern slavery.

4. Our policies

Fat Flamingo Cards is committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business or supply chains.

We aim to:

  • Work with reputable and ethical suppliers
  • Expect suppliers to comply with applicable laws and labour standards
  • Avoid knowingly engaging with businesses that exploit workers

5. Due diligence processes

To help identify and mitigate risks, we:

  • Source materials from trusted and established suppliers
  • Prefer UK-based or low-risk suppliers where possible
  • Seek transparency from suppliers regarding their practices
  • Review supplier relationships periodically

6. Risk assessment and management

As a small business, we consider the overall risk of modern slavery to be relatively low. However, we remain aware of potential risks in:

  • Overseas production
  • Raw material sourcing (e.g. paper and packaging)

We will take appropriate action if any concerns arise.

7. Training and awareness

While formal training is limited due to the size of the business, we remain committed to staying informed about modern slavery risks and improving awareness as the business grows.

8. Future steps

Fat Flamingo Cards is committed to continuous improvement. We intend to:

  • Strengthen supplier checks
  • Increase supply chain transparency
  • Review and update this statement annually

9. Approval
